Title credentials on line in derby

LOWERHOUSE'S title credentials will be tested to the limit in Sunday's derby with Nelson.
The West Enders have won their last six Sponsorbank Lancashire League games.
And Charlie Cottam is yet to taste defeat as skipper, after taking over from Jonathan Finch.
Their run of good form has elevated Lowerhouse to fifth in the table, with all five of their June victories coming when batting first.
But Sunday's visit of Nelson, who currently sit third in the table, will be the test of how far they have come in recent weeks.
With the top two in the league, Rawtenstall and Accrington, also meeting each other at the Worswick Memorial Ground, victory will see Cottam's side propelled firmly into the title shake-up.
However, defeat could deal a significant blow to their hopes, as they approach the halfway point of the season.
As for Burnley, they will look to put the memory of last weekend's Get Solutions Worsley Cup semi-final defeat firmly behind them when they visit Colne.
The pair occupy the bottom two spots in the table, with Colne 18 points adrift at the foot.
But victory for the Turfites could potentially elevate them four places, in what is a congested mid-table area.
Both Lowerhouse's home game with Nelson and Burnley's trip to Colne take place on Sunday, with both matches starting at 1-15 p.m.
And Burnley are also in Twenty/20 cup action tonight, with their semi-final clash at Rawtenstall starting at 6-30 p.m.
Meanwhile, in the Veka Ribblesdale League, Padiham and Read face their most important weekend of the season to date.
The pair are both in P. M. and M. Ramsbottom Cup semi-final action, and could potentially square up against each other in the final.
Padiham travel to Settle while Read host Ribblesdale Wanderers, with the latter hoping to repeat their 2003 success.
However, Padiham have had to wait a lot longer to lift that particular piece of silverware, with their last win in the competition coming back in 1973.
Both games start at 1-30 p.m., as do tomorrow's league games, with Read at home to Cherry Tree and Padiham at home to champions Blackburn Northern.
Read are also in Twenty/20 cup action tonight, with a home game against Edenfield (wickets pitched 6-30 p.m.).
