Nelson students gave up their time to raise money for a cause close to their hearts
The year nine students from Marsden Heights Community College in Nelson raised the magnificent sum of £400 by holding a charity week just before Easter.
They organised a raffle for a hamper packed with goodies along with a giant Easter bunny. They held a tombola and also a Guess how many mini eggs in the jar game?

Hide AdStudents decided to donate the money to the hospice as it is very much part of the community where they live.
After raising £354 and headteacher Miss Littlewood made up the rest to £400.
Head of Year Nine Miss Louise Blackey said she was very proud of her students.
She said: "Our pupils made the decision to donate this money and worked really hard all week giving up their own break times to raise money for the hospice.
"They did a fantastic job and should be really proud of themselves."
