Nearly 9,000 police officers have been recruited as part of the Conservative Government’s campaign to recruit an additional 20,000 by March 2023, with 199 more in Lancashire alone.
Mr Higginbotham MP said: “Getting more police officers onto the streets of Burnley and Padiham is one of the people’s priorities and it’s a promise I made to residents across the borough when I was elected. I am delighted that we have already delivered an extra 199 officers across our area.

“By backing our police with the funding, powers and resources they need, we are keeping the public and our communities safe, so that people everywhere can live their lives free from the fear of crime.”
The addition of these new officers brings the total number of police across Lancashire up to 3,187.
Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson said: “Getting more police officers onto our streets is one of the people’s priorities, and so I am delighted that, this Conservative Government has already delivered an extra 199 officers across Lancashire."
