Lancashire Police is recruiting 80 new police officers - this is what you need to know and how to apply

According to Lancashire Police this latest recruitment campaign is "continuing its commitment to keeping Lancashire a safe place to live" which will also "see more officers on the street."
The Degree Apprenticeship programme is for anyone who currently has a degree in any subject other than a degree in in Professional Policing.

Hide AdCommenting on the news, Chief Constable Andy Rhodes said: “The fact that we’ve met our local target is excellent - any extra officers on the streets is good news for us and for Lancashire residents.
“Having met all of the new recruits, I know we’ve been fortunate to attract some fantastic candidates all with different skills and experiences who will be able to make a real difference to our local communities.”

What does the degree programme involve?

Hide AdThe two-year programme will be a combination of on-the-job experience with frontline police officers, along with studying for a level 6 graduate diploma in Professional Policing Practice.
The course takes place in three blocks of learning throughout each year and involves classroom sessions, coursework and exams. When not in the classroom apprentices will be working on full operational duties putting theory in to practice.
Apprentices will earn while they learn, and all university fees will be funded by Lancashire Constabulary.
What is the salary?
The starting salary for the programme is £24,780, plus annual increases.
Where will the study programme take place?

Hide AdTh study programme will take place across several locations, including, Hutton police headquarters, the University of Central Lancashire and via online learning.
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants will need to hold a level 6 degree qualification or higher (or equivalent) in any subject (except a College of Policing licensed degree in professional policing practice), or be predicted to achieve this prior to being offered a final job offer. The qualification must be determined as a level 6 degree or higher (or equivalent) in the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
