Officers from Clitheroe Police are currently working with Ribble Valley Council to target fly tippers following recent incidents in Thornley and Dunsop Bridge.
This illegal dumping of waste, which includes mattresses, broken furniture and black bags of rubbish, has a financial burden on the taxpayer due to the clean up costs for the council.

Hide AdPC Carl Chew, of Ribble Valley Police, is investigating the incidents. He said: "Fly-tipping happens across the county at great cost to landowners and council taxpayers of our community.
"With partnership work and help from our community as a whole, we will try to locate, trace, fine or prosecute offenders.
"Should you witness anyone fly tipping, please record as much information as you can such as vehicle registration and if possible a description of offenders, then contact police on 101."
