Youngsters flocked to see the star guest, a real live Minion, at Read Primary School’s summer fair.

The minion popped into the fair at the school in Straits Lane which raised the fantastic sum of £1,900. Other attractions included an inflatable assault course, bouncy castle, archery, reed weaving and a variety of traditional stalls and games.

There was also a glitz and glam stall where little girls could get their hair done in a variety of styles, face painting and temporary tattoos. There was a visit from a fire engine and a raffle with an iPad mini up for grabs and a signed Burnley shirt. Visitors tucked into a barbecue and there was also a cake stall. One of the highlights of the day was a performance by the Talent Theatre School.
