Investigation launched after Burnley house blaze

A person had to be treated by paramedics after a house fire in Westgate, Burnley, over the weekend.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus attended the residential property at 11am yesterday (Sunday) to tackle the fire.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Two fire engines from Burnley were called to a fire at a house on Westgate, Burnley. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.

"One person was treated by paramedics at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation."
