The MP agreed to chat with pupils at St Mary Magdalene's RC Primary School on a 'Teams' video call as part of studies the children completed to mark UK Parliament Week.
Each class was set the challenge of posing questions to Mr Higginbotham and the children were keen to know what it's like to be an MP, what his views on lockdown are, had he met Boris Johnson, how he represented minority groups in his role as an MP and what he would change in politics if he had the chance.

Mrs Parkinson said: "My question related to our mission statement 'Love one another as I have loved you.'
"Antony gave a very full response and expressed his disappointment at the way some politicians have behaved which has had a very negative impact on the way politics is viewed.
"He told us he entered politics to change things for the better and this can only be done by communicating effectively and respectively and not playing one off against each other. "
