CATHOLIC nuns and priests are heading to the beach this summer in Italy with an inflatable church and beach-convent to attract sun worshippers.

The 98ft.-long inflatable church which is staffed by priests made its first appearance yesterday on the Adriatic coast and promised singing and activities until 1 a.m.

Nuns from a convent near Naples have relocated to beach cabins to join holidaymakers and have set up an altar in tents.
